Ryan Hurst Is Kratos in Prime Video’s ‘God of War’ Live-Action Series

Prime Video has officially cast Ryan Hurst as Kratos in its upcoming live-action adaptation of God of War, produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
Hurst is no stranger to the franchise, having previously voiced Thor in God of War Ragnarök, a performance that earned him a BAFTA Award nomination. Now, he steps into the role of the legendary Spartan warrior at the center of the saga.
Beyond gaming, Hurst is widely known as a fan favorite from AMC’s The Walking Dead and has built a diverse television career with standout roles in Bates Motel, Outsiders, Sons of Anarchy, Medium, King & Maxwell, Wanted, and SyFy’s Steven Spielberg-produced miniseries Taken.
The God of War series will follow Kratos and his son Atreus as they embark on an emotional journey that blends myth, violence, and fatherhood. Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.
